Introducing Art Mart: KW’s Own Art Vending Machine
Before ALL Performances
Studio Theatre, Centre in the Square
Started by local artist Sabrina Boyer, Art Mart is a reimagined snack vending machine — but instead of chips and candy, it’s stocked with original works by 22 incredible artists from Kitchener-Waterloo and Southern Ontario.
Inside the machine, you’ll find an eclectic mix of art in a wide range of mediums: ceramics, crochet, prints, textiles, glass beads, flame-worked glass, perler beads, watercolor, and mixed media. Each purchase supports a local artist and puts a unique, handmade piece of art directly into your hands. Art Mart is thrilled to make its debut at Femme Folks Fest this year, generously supported by Pat the Dog Theatre.
Sabrina Boyer is a multimedia artist based in Guelph, Ontario, whose primary focus is sculpture and ceramics. Through tactile forms and material storytelling, their work examines how objects hold personal and collective histories, and how the act of making becomes a ritual of preservation, transformation, and self-definition. Their practice investigates themes of memory and identity through material exploration and form, often incorporating both traditional and experimental techniques.
In addition to their artistic practice, Boyer is an accomplished educator and community leader. They were named Community Art Educator of the Year (2024) by the Ontario Art Education Association and are the recipient of the 2024 Enbridge Women in STEM Award for Leadership, recognizing their contributions to arts education and their advocacy for accessible creative programming.
