Workshop: Humour Writing Workshop
and Publishing with Jennie Egerdie

March 18, 2023  11am-12:30pm
Visitor Centre, 10 Father David Bauer Drive, Waterloo, ON

Are you interested in writing short, humourous pieces but not sure where to start? Are you a writer of any experience level looking to grow your humour chops? Come learn with this hometown buddy. (Born and raised in KW!)

This 90-minute workshop will teach you the tools needed to publish humorous pieces of the 500-1,000-word variety. (Think McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and The New Yorker’s Shouts & Murmurs) We’ll go over tips and techniques that all humour writers use, brainstorm humorous premises, and play with different structures and forms. The last half hour will be open for questions, and all participants will leave with a list of places to submit.

The workshop will be capped at 20 participants.

To apply: Email a short bio and 2-3 sentences about why you want to take this workshop to hello@previous.femmefolksfest.ca.
