FIRST-TIMERS COMEDY WORKSHOP

March 13, 2024 7-9pm
Visitors Centre
10 Father David Bauer Drive, Waterloo

7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at stand-up comedy? Well we’ve got the workshop for you! Hosted by local stand-up comic Sarah Thompson, featuring the fantastic Lindsay Endersby and Renee Groux, we welcome you to attend the First-Timers Comedy Workshop, taking place Wednesday March 13, 2024 from 7-9pm at the Visitor Information Centre (10 Father David Bauer Dr, Waterloo, ON N2L 6M3)! In a supportive and encouraging environment, you will have the opportunity to share your material and get feedback to create the set of your dreams. Don’t have any jokes written yet? No problem! We will be breaking down the process of joke writing and comedic set preparation. We hope you join us for a laughter-filled evening of learning and fun!

Sarah Thompson: Exploding onto the KW comedy scene in 2023, Sarah has performed locally in Together We’re Boisterous comedy shows, Pinch Cabaret, and the Plan B Open Mic at Petty Cash Studios in Los Angeles, California. Sarah is launching an open mic called Lavender Fizz, which aims to provide a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+, women, and non-binary comics to test out material. Lavender Fizz will take place monthly on Thursdays and be held at Together We’re Bitter (TWB) brewery beginning April 11, 2024!

Renee Groux: Renee is the co-producer of Fever Dream Comedy in Kitchener-Waterloo, has appeared at the Guelph Comedy Festival, Hillside Festival, the 2022 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has recently opened for TV’s Jon Dore. She was also the co-host of 93.3 CFRU’s hit comedy talk-show “Worst Responders”! Whether on stage or over the airwaves, Renee promises to get silly (and probably gross!) and bring the laughs.

Lindsay Endersby: Lindsay Endersby is a Kitchener based stand up comedian. She is a Co-producer of Fever Dream Comedy in KW and a regular at Rusty Nail Comedy Club. She uses her dry and dark style to talk about everything from Brothers Grimm fairy tales to general secrets she should write in a journal instead of share with strangers.
