Energy Portraits

March 16-20, 2023
107 King St. West Unit 4, Kitchener

In Energy Portraits, you become the subject of two different approaches to representing the energetic self. Polaroid Aura is a photo-based project that uses polaroid photography to capture individuals’ auras through portraiture. Using an SX-70 polaroid camera, vintage polaroid film, and a unique ‘mood chamber’ your aura will be captured within seconds by the photographer Julie Dring. After you have your photo taken, Gada Jane will provide an intuitive exploration of self through an energetic reading of your life, relationships, and how you process the world.

Gada Jane is an intuitive and writer. Through her readings, she offers precise and detailed insight into people and situations by directly tuning into the energy.  She teaches people how to work with their own intuitive processes through a process of tuning in and allowing their own intuitive language to reveal itself. She also writes and has worked on developing the work of other writers since starting her career as an Artistic Associate for Pat the Dog in 2010

Julie Dring is an arts manager and artist working out of the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Her work utilizes old-timey photographic processes to unite communities together. Julie’s interest in 19th century photographic processes stems from her 10+ year career in archives and museums. In 2014, Julie received her Master of Arts in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Toronto Metropolitan University. Julie has served as the Executive Director of Hamilton Artists Inc. (2018-2021) and has sat on several Boards for non-profit arts organizations and has exhibited as part of numerous collaborative arts projects throughout Southern Ontario (2012-2023).
